The Pembroke Players Committee would like to welcome you all to a new term of Pembroke theatre, which will as always be packed with high-quality drama, side-splittingly funny comedy and smokers overflowing with free wine!
Our Michaelmas Season officially kicks off tomorrow (26th October) with Fanfiction: A Sketch Show! at 7pm in New Cellars. In this hilarious extravaganza, Rhiannon Shaw, Miles Stopher and Jamie Fenton take the combined sincerity and irreverence of fanfiction and apply it vaguely to the format of sketch comedy. Three comedians who have done the rounds and got the t-shirt (they share it between them) will take to the Cellars for an hour of good fun, laughs, and dodgy prose. Drinks will be provided!
Previous praise for the Fanfiction performers includes:
‘Decidedly odd, yet so very, very hilarious’ – Varsity, Five Go Off On One!
‘An evening of wit and absurdity’ – The Tab, And Then There Were Nuns
‘This is an hilarious, laugh out loud, riotous romp’ – Edinburgh Guide, Picasso Stole the Mona Lisa
Our Freshers’ smoker sold out, so you don’t want to miss out on our first sketch show of the year! Tickets can be booked here: www.pembrokeplayers.co.uk/show/fanfiction-a-sketch-show-week-3-mainshow/
From Thursday (27th October), two brand new arrivals to the sketch comedy scene are taking to the New Cellars stage with Good Gravy after leaving our Freshers’ Smoker audience in hysterics – come join Joe Spence and Stanley Thomas as they try to figure out exactly how to get themselves out of this hot, gravy-ey mess.
Good Gravy is on at 9.30pm, New Cellars, Thursday 27th – Saturday 29th October, tickets available here: www.pembrokeplayers.co.uk/show/good-gravy-week-3-lateshow/
We hope to see you all at Pembroke New Cellars very soon!
